•Mrs.KAVITHA,
is residing at Nerkuntram; 4 years back she had joined Mahasemam and started a center with 50 members. All members availed Rs. 5000 each in first cycle.

A few Members in the Center possess experience and had the confidence to start their own ventures with support from SMILE. After continuous support form SMILE, the Center Members unanimously accepted to take Rs. 30,000 as small Loan to start a garment business. Since the center leader’s husband owned a tailoring business, she bought two sewing machines additionally and was trained on the job.

The business took off well and procured exports orders from various garment companies. he promptly repaid the initial loan taken. In the next cycle she availed Rs 40000 and engaged in five new sewing machines and also hired labours to meet the increased demand.

What started as a small venture with support from SMILE has made Kavitha a proud owner of a growing and sustainable business. Her success inspired other Members of her Center who also availed small business loans to start off on their own. She is proud to be associated with SMILE and we are delighted to hear such experiences.
